Dr Christy Chao is an AHPRA-registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist with a clinical approach centred on individualised, integrative care.Rather than focusing on a symptom in isolation, Christy considers the broader clinical picture — including sleep, digestion, stress, lifestyle, menstrual and reproductive health, medical history and patterns of symptoms — when developing an individual treatment strategy.Her approach combines traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic principles with contemporary health knowledge and evidence-informed practice. Treatment may incorporate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary and lifestyle guidance depending on the individual's presentation.A sixth-generation practitioner from a family of Chinese medicine doctors, Christy completed the five-year double degree in Health Science and Applied Science (Chinese Medicine) at RMIT University and subsequently undertook clinical training at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China.Her clinical interests include women's health and fertility, digestive health, sleep and stress, respiratory and allergy conditions, pain and rehabilitation, and patients presenting with multiple or persistent health concerns.
